Also known as slough grass, this hardy annual grass is great for soil restoration and erosion control, and the seeds are reported to be edible*. Seeds were traditionally roasted and ground into flour by native Americans. They€™re very small, but are produced in abundance and are easily harvested. Seeds should be cooked and husks removed before eating, which has traditionally been accomplished by burning over an open fire.
